A miracle happened despite all expectations with a child without a brain.

The child who would allegedly die hours after birth celebrates his first birthday

Ozzie Gordon is a baby who has shown the world that miracles exist. At the time of his birth, doctors told his parents that he would not live long.

The family returned home with no choice but to give him hospice care. However, Ozzie is already a year old.

Doctors predicted that Ozzie would live less than two days after birth.

From the first months of pregnancy, the doctors began to notice that something was not right with the baby. They measured his abdomen and extremities and everything seemed normal.

However, none of the scanners allowed them to measure his head. The only thing they managed to confirm was that he would be born with a series of malformations in his skull.

At first, the doctors thought it could be Edwards Syndrome or Trisomy 18, but the tests ruled it out.

The specialists offered the couple the option of terminating the pregnancy, but they decided they would go ahead. They couldn’t end their little boy’s life without being sure what the problem would be. The moment of birth arrived and with a series of tests they managed to make the diagnosis.

Her parents are Ombola and Checotah Gordon.

Ozzie suffered from microcephaly. His head is much smaller than expected and a portion of his brain tissue was not protected by the skull.

The only thing covering it was a bit of skin. Most of these cases are fatal, with patients losing their lives just hours after being born. Ozzie arrived to make history.

“He doesn’t walk or crawl, but he can babble. His smile warms the hearts of all who meet him.

After a couple of months, he received surgery but still suffers from many health problems. He convulses very often and many of his muscles are tense and stiff.

His development is not the same as that of any other child but he seems to be aware of things that are happening around him.

“Most days he seems to be happy.”

For her parents, this has become a long process but they are proud of how far she has come. Many people are surprised when they see him but they have no problem explaining and raising awareness about his delicate condition.

“All we want is to give him the best life possible. We hope that he will be accepted in society even though he may look a little different from others.”
