Fast X – the opening part of the “final race” of the Toretto family just released a super attractive trailer on February 10.
After F9 was judged to have run out of steam, plus losing Dwayne Johnson and director Justin Lin, what’s so appealing about Fast X ?
First, the trailer shows quite a few new characters. It’s Grandma Dom, new enemy and new friend.
Dom Abuela Toretto (Rita Moreno) opens the introduction with the speech “She knows that life’s path is full of thorns. However, I still built this magnificent family.” That means the family is getting bigger, Vin Diesel needs to pay more stars, just kidding, Dominic Toretto has more worries.
The villain in this part is Dante (Jason Momoa) – a ghost from the past. Remember Fast Five , when Fast & Furious was still a true racing franchise, when Gisele (Gal Gadot) was still alive, close friends accepted Dom’s call to go to Rio de Janeiro to rob Reyes (Joaquim). de Almeida) – a businessman who manipulates the whole city. The gang successfully robbed the safe containing $100 million, and Reyes lost his life. Dante’s family was robbed, so he went to Toretto’s house to collect his debt.
Dante appears with the opposite appearance of Dom. Director Louis Leterrier explained about this character: “He studied Dom for many years, turning himself into an anti-Dom. Dom is positive, he is negative. Dom wears monochrome clothes, Dante wears colorful clothes. Dom shaved his head, Dante grew his hair long and painted his nails. Dom drives a Dodge, he drives a Chevy.”
However, there is a notable detail: Reyes was killed by FBI agent Hobbs ( Dwayne Johnson ). Considering which Toretto family was the one directly responsible for the death, most likely, Hobbs was eliminated by Dante first. Just like how Deckard Shaw ( Jason Statham ) appeared, killed Han (Sung Kang) and sent threats to the Torreto family in Fast 7. This is the most likely hypothesis because Dwayne Johnson refused the invitation to return to Fast. & Furious due to disagreements with male lead and producer Vin Diesel .
Well, it’s true that you shouldn’t “turn your back on your family”!
Dante vows to teach Dominic Toretto what fear is, tearing his family apart. He captures little Brian – Dom’s son and the late policewoman Elena. Cipher ( Charlize Theron ) – the villain who made Dom’s family miserable in the last two parts also reappears, fighting Letty (Michelle Rodriguez).
“There will be people among us who won’t come back…”
“That’s the problem with people with big families like that. Who do you choose to save?”
Two lines of dialogue predict a stormy future for the Toretto family. Who sacrificed? Besides Hobbs, the remaining members are all extremely important. the once “dead” wife Letty, Han who has just returned after many years of “death”, his younger brother Jakob who has been away for decades or Roman, Tej, Ramsey… Or perhaps the grandmother Abuela has just appeared? Or will Fast X kill Queenie (Helen Mirren) to create motivation for the Shaw brothers to team up with the Toretto family? In addition, an unnamed character played by Daniela Melchior driving a golden car appears in the race next to Dom and Dante. In another scene, the same car crashes.
Of course, Fast & Furious cannot lack cars. The 3-minute-39 trailer shows many “sacrificing” cars, Dom and Dante also have a heated race, true to Fast & Furious. The scene of pulling the safe across the bridge appeared again. Louis Leterrier excitedly shared, “It’s a classic moment, so we were like, “Let’s Rashomon this scene.”

Tess ( Brie Larson ) shows up with a warning. She is Mr.Nobody’s (Kurt Russell) person. It’s unclear if he will appear or if he will give the stage to Little Nobody (Scott Eastwood). Queenie appeared to comfort Dom while his son Deckard and Han were forced to put aside their past hatred to fight together.
Attractive new characters, impressive villains, racing on the street, not in space… Fast X trailer helps loyal fans strengthen their belief in the “final race”!
The new movie Fast X is expected to be released in cinemas nationwide from May 19, 2023.
