Sometimes there are people we call lucky because they have been through situations that no one believes that they could have survived, since it was always serious and it would have ended their lives in the process.

Today we visit a man that is known, because of the accident that he was involved in, that he survived and ended up remaining with part of his head.

They call him half a head man.

Hussein Chaban is a man of 27 years old.

On the 19th of July, he was involved in a motorcycle accident, but he survived.

What caused this accident?

Does he still have his senses?

Meet the man that survived the impossible?

Today, our Afrimax journalists travel to Tanzania again, a country that is located in East Africa.

This country has a population of over 53 million people.

In all of those we visited, Hussein Shaban and his wife, and they live in a place that is out of town called Kitunda.

When we go to his home, his wife and neighbors welcomed us and they were very happy.

One look at Hussein, you get shocked and you cannot believe that at this level someone would still be alive.

How are these two living together?

How are they even surviving?

Hussein’s wife agreed to look into our cameras and tell us what happened to her husband from the very beginning.

Today, in 2022, Hussein Shaban is 27 years old now.

He was involved in a serious motor accident.

It was on the 19th of July.

During night he worked and used this motorcycle as a taxi, and on that night he took to passengers from this area, Kitunda, and he was supposed to take them to a place called fremocoli.

As they were on their way, they came across a place with newly built shops, but there was nothing inside.

They asked him to stop so that they could buy something.

Hussein stopped the bike and he noticed that there was nothing in these shops at all, as they were still wandering.

Another bike came from the opposite side and crushed them.

The two girls that he took as passengers lost their bags, but they weren’t injured at all.

As for Hussein, he almost died from that day.

His wife started a journey that was not easy of taking care of her dying husband, who had been seriously hurt by the accident.

During the night she had people running coming to her house.

They told her that her husband had been involved in a serious accident.

She was shocked and she asked them if he was still alive, but she could not wait for the reply, so she grabbed a bike and went to see him.

When she got there, she found him seriously bleeding and he was hot, but he was still alive.

She carried him and rushed him to the nearby hospital called Ilala.

When the doctor saw that his head was seriously damaged, they transferred him to another, bigger hospital in a place called muyimbili.

After they checked his condition, they said that he was supposed to undergo surgery.

His wife immediately accepted this fact.

Right away in the morning, the doctors came to tell her how surgery had gone.

They said that they had no other option but removed part of his bone that was in the head.

In her own words, she said.

Early the next morning the doctors came and told me that they removed part of his call because his brain had got swollen.

They said that it was big and it needed space, and this is all they could do.

There was nothing that i could do about it, because i couldn’t even argue with the doctors.

All i could do was to ask the doctor if my husband was going to survive, and he told me that they were going to put an extension in his head and he would be just fine.

He was in coma.

They say that by the time he wakes up, he may not remember everything he knew because his brain was seriously damaged.

The doctors told me that Hussein is still breathing and there’s a big chance of him surviving.

Though he was on oxygen support, they told me that the oxygen was going to be very expensive because he might need it for quite some time.

They said that i was going to pay not less than 150 000 shillings.

This was a lot of money and there was no way that she was going to ever afford it.

Just to remind you, Hussein’s wife was the only one that was taking care of her dying husband in the hospital and the children at home.

At the same time, she was selling dry fish around her home area, and this was the money she used to take care of her family and her husband as well.

After she was asked for 150 000 shillings for oxygen, she told the hospital management that there is no way that she could ever afford to pay this amount of money.

Fortunately, she later got medical insurance that would help her to pay some of the bills, and she was very excited.

During then, Nan was allowed to come close to where Hussein was.

His wife pleaded with them for a very long time until they allowed her to enter the room where he was.

This is when she noticed that he was now feeding through tubes.

Days went by and time came when they were supposed to leave the hospital and go back home.

When she was told the amount of money that she was supposed to pay, she got really shocked, because it was a lot and she couldn’t afford it.

She then decided to go out on media platforms like the news and call out for help.

After four days, she fortunately got the money and she paid.

So Hussein was discharged from the hospital and they went back home.

Though they have been through all that, her husband is not yet fine at all.

He is still very sick because from that day no one has ever heard his voice at all.

She keeps praying and asking the Lord to let her husband speak and call her sweetheart with his voice, just like he used to, though, this family is going through a lot of hard times.

There is no way that we can forget to thank this lady that is sitting besides her dang husband, and she has always been fighting and taking care of Hussein’s life up to now.

She is still doing the same, and she does it with nothing but love.

From then till dead.

There is nothing that Hussein can do for himself.

Everything is being done for him by his lovely wife.

He cannot go to the toilet, he does each and everything on himself, and when this happens, it is his wife that has to change his clothes, shower him, feed him, pushes him in a wheelchair, and she still does the housework, like fetching water, cleaning the house and more other things of that sort.

Do we all remember that she does all this and still goes to selfish so that she can get money to buy food for her family?

Yes, she manages to do all this at once.

Now it is obvious that where there is love, there is more than just commitment.

She is lucky enough to have a caring neighbor that helps her to carry Hussein, putting him in a wheelchair, taking him outside because he loves sitting under the sun, sometimes carrying him back to bed when he is going to sleep.

When we came to this home, a miracle happened.

From the day that Hussein was brought back home, there was nothing that he could ever do for himself, but today he managed to feed himself, which his wife considers as a miracle, and it gives her hope that one day her husband will be fine.

Just to let you know, it is not only the head that was damaged, but the legs too.

At the hospital, they were told that they had to implement metals into his bones to repair them.

This did not happen because they could not afford.

Problems in this family keep becoming more every day, and his wife says that she surely needs help because she can hardly manage to afford each and everything on her own, like medicine diapers for her husband, since he cannot go to the toilet.

Up to date, Hussein is not yet fine.

He needs medicine that is very expensive to buy.

She says that there is more medicine that keeps coming up every day and becoming more expensive, which must be used to treat her husband.

They told me that they have to put metals in his legs to treat him, and this is part of what i cannot afford as well.

Life is becoming harder each and every day.

Hussein needs food diapers, which i cannot afford anymore.

So now i use my clothes on him and when he urinates and defecates on it, i remove it, wash it and put it on him again, and he really needs help.

That’s not all, because she also calls out the leaders of her country to do something to help her.

It is obvious that the accident really affected this family a lot and everything changed.

We hope and believe that one day he will be fine, stand up and walk again just like he used to.
