Eight-year-old Brooke Davis attended the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 of her mother, who gave 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 to her younger sister. A fragment of the video of the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 was published by the Love What Matters blog channel on YouTube.
According to Brooke’s mom, Kelsey Davis, she got pregnant when her eldest daughter was three years old and told her about it. The family held a photo shoot to celebrate Brooke’s arrival as an older sister, but Kelsey ᴍɪsᴄᴀʀʀɪᴇᴅ soon after.
According to Davis, she told her daughter that she had ʟᴏsᴛ a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, and she cried terribly. “Toddlers can feel the bitterness of ʟᴏss too,” she said in a post to Love What Matters.

Then Kelsey had two more miscarriges, but Brooke did not know anything about them – they had already decided not to tell her about her mother’s pregnancies. Therefore, when Davis became pregnant again in 2015, she only told her daughter about it after the ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴛ of pregnancy ʟᴏss had passed. Then Brooke decided to attend the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 for the first time and asked her mother to take her with her to the maternity ward.

In early 2016, Kelsey gave 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 to their second daughter, Ellie. Brooke was in the ward during 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 but did not take an active part in the process. And when her mother became pregnant again, she again asked to help her during the upcoming 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡.
And so, in 2017, already eight years old, Brooke not only received the right to be present at the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 but also the right to truly feel and see the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 of her sister, who received the name Summer.

The midwife let Brooke touch Summer’s head when her mom started pushing. After the girl was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧, her older sister burst into tears and was speechless. As Kelsey says, after the experience, Brooke not only copes well with her sisters but also wants to connect her life with obstetrics and gynecology.
“If the kids want to be at your 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡, don’t forbid them. Brooke could leave the room or just not look at what was happening. But she decided to stay, watch, and participate,” said the mother of three girls.

Brooke was not the first to be directly involved in the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 of a sibling. We previously told the story of 12-year-old Jessie, who helped her mother give 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 under the supervision of a doctor.
